Co-Writing with Hasty Words...

I am about to tread into new waters. My good friend, Hasty Words, and I are going to co-write a book together. I am so excited to see where this goes.

We sent a page back and forth to test the waters and the results were pretty neat. We need to plot things out some more (since there was already confusion LOL), but I can already tell it is going to be awesome!

Summer is over...

After enjoying the summer it is now time to get back into my writing routine. I have so many ideas that I can’t wait to put down on paper. Here’s to hoping the words will flow with ease. 

Caged Bird

Little Caged Bird... So scared to fly

In a safe nest made of lies

The doors begins to crack

And the wings begin to spread

Fly away, Little Bird, before it's too late!

Fly away while you can!

Don't let the door shut on you,

Breaking your wings for good

A scary new world awaits you

With new sights to see

Don't look back at the cage, Little Bird

Instead find the biggest tree

And build a nest made of Hope.

Shredded and torn

Lying scattered

On the floor

Wild passions

Breaking silence

Out in the hall

Dive in deep

Muscular tension

Baaaaad Blogger. *Sad face*

I’ve been a bad blogger, people. Sorry about that. I’ll catch you up on what’s been going on:

-     -  Finished my MMA-themed Romance book and submitted it to some agents. Hopefully I’ll have some good news to share soon

-      - Gearing up for DFWcon. This will be my 3^rd year attending and I can’t wait

-      - Also about to head out to the Arkansas Literary Festival … like I’m literally leaving tomorrow

-       -Working on two very different projects now. One was planned. The other, not so much.

-        

Also, here’s an angsty poem for you all…

I feel like screaming until I can’t scream anymore

Why do I let you do this over and over

You would think that I’ve had enough,

But apparently I haven’t

I get so sick and tired of seeing you everywhere

And then hearing how great you are

Why do they get to see that side

And all I see is the side I know

Maybe one day I’ll have enough

Stop giving a f*ck about you

But until then I sit here and wait

And each day start to hate you a little more.

Welcome 2013

Happy New Years

I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Years. It seems that 2012 just wasn’t a good year for a lot of people, myself included. I just know that 2013 is going to be amazing, though. I’ve challenged myself with a few goals this year.

 1)   Get a Literary Agent and/or Get Published – This one is more important that ever to me. I feel the time I right and that I have grown as a writer. I really feel this is going to happen this year.

2)   Spend more time with my family – I want to spend time with those whom I don’t see very often.

3)   Weight – Goodness, isn’t weight always on a goals list? I’m not going to say much, other than I am serious this time.

4)   Work on my Debt – I have been working on this one for a while, but I am going to be more aggressive with it.

5)   Continue my path to a higher education - Going back to college at 28 was a bit rough for me at first. But I am committed to going until I get my degree.

So, dear readers of my blog… what are your goals for 2013??
